Design and Development
Design and Development is the third step in the Product Realization Process. We are ready to dive into the design of your product. Building on the previous “Steps to Success”, the product brief, preliminary quality specification, and concept drawings/CAD are infused with our experience to produce a “Ready To Manufacture” design for your product.

Is Your Design “Ready to Manufacture”?
Ready to Manufacture design is a key distinction between the PrecisionMade process and other “Designers” or “Design Services”; which may produce a pretty design but put little-to-no thought into how that design is manufactured cost-effectively.
At PrecisionMade we employ some not-so-common technologies to enhance our services and provide you with unique top-tier designs, and world-class product development services.
3D Scanning
We utilize 3D scanning for design retrofitting or reverse engineering. If you have a product that is an accessory to another product, or something that needs to fit precisely; we scan just about anything. We scan in high detail and precision objects as small as a LEGO® brick to as large as an SUV. We can also utilize 3D scanning to create manufacturable 3D CAD files from handmade proof of concept designs.
Digital Sculpting
We utilize haptic feedback digital sculpting tools to create the most unique organic flowing shapes that will give your design that “something extra” no one has seen before. This technology simulates touching the digital 3D model, as if we were sculpting an actual piece of clay, but with the precision of CAD. It is as cool as it sounds!
Industrial Design
Our designers are pros at taking concepts and making them into a manufacturable reality. Manufacturability of an item is always considered when designing your product.
Shorten Time to Market
In some industries, the product development cycle can last for two years or more, we’ve streamlined the process, often as little as six months, without cutting corners or compromising quality. We make sure the product is developed the right way from the beginning, avoiding costly delays.
Competitive Testing
Aside from making your product look good, it needs to function correctly as well. We perform a number of functional tests in-house, such as critical failure force tests, hardness tests, scratch resistance, and more. We will give you data to show how your product needs to perform. Establish a baseline of what is currently in the market and test the competition.
